HHREC GenerationsForward speaker Shelley Greenspan will appear on Zoom to tell the story of her father. His experiences during WW2 are not so well known, but impacted many Jewish men in Hungary. Like some other 45,000 Jewish men in Hungary, he was drafted into the Hungarian Labor Service System, as Jewish men and other “undesirables” were forced to perform their military duty to Hungary. 80% of them did not survive this ordeal.

Shelley will share his struggle to survive and persevere before the war, during the war as a slave to the Hungarian army, and after the war when he met her mother.
