Annual Holocaust Commemoration Event Features Leading Authority as Keynote Speaker, Honors Westchester County Teacher  

On Tuesday, April 16th the Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center (HHREC) and Iona University hosted the Annual William H. Donat Shoah Commemoration at the Iona campus in New Rochelle.

The event was presented by HHREC and Iona and featured a talk and presentation by Mark Weitzman, Chief Operating Officer, World Jewish Restitution Organization, Senior Delegate to the International Holocaust Remembrance Authority, and Vice President of the Association of Holocaust Organizations. Weitzman presented Antisemitism in America: Historical and Contemporary Perspectives.  The program also featured with a presentation of the 22nd annual Susan J. Goldberg Memorial Teacher Award to Laurie Lichtenstein, an English/Social Studies teacher at Seven Bridges Middle School.
