Annual Westchester Countywide Yom HaShoah Commemoration

A crowd of over 300 people gathered at the Garden of Remembrance in White Plains yesterday for the Annual Westchester Countywide Yom HaShoah Commemoration.

The event was presented by the Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center (HHREC), Westchester Jewish Council (WJC) and UJA-Federation New York.

The program featured a moving speech by Holocaust Survivor Annie Kleinhaus, along with a procession of Westchester’s rescued Holocaust Torahs, and included remarks by Westchester County Executive George Latimer, U.S. Congressman Michael Lawler, WJC President William Schrag, HHREC Board Chairman and GenerationsForward speaker Michael Gyory, and Rabbi Lester Bronstein from Bet Am Shalom Synagogue. The program concluded with a singing performance in English, German and Hebrew by the Children’s Choir of German International School New York.
